fence_vmware_rest failed with "DEBUG: Failed: 'error' object does not support indexing" when SSL was used and verbosity was enabled

Issue

  • The fence_vmware_rest fence agent can fail with "ERROR: Unable to connect/login to fencing device" if SSL is used with certificate verification (i.e., without the --ssl-insecure option).

  • When the --verbose option is enabled, the following error is also logged:

    2020-06-25 17:27:18,387 DEBUG: Failed: 'error' object does not support indexing

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 or 8 (with the High Availability Add-on)
  • fence_vmware_rest
