Issue

  • Testing connection of new Libvirt compute resource in Red Hat Satellite 6 returned following error:

    • Infrastructure > Compute Resource > New > Provide credentials > test connection:
    Unable to save
    Error making a connection to libvirt URI qemu+ssh://user@hypervisor.example.com/system: Call to virConnectOpen failed: authentication unavailable: no polkit agent 
    available to authenticate action 'org.libvirt.unix.manage'
    
  • On listing systems via terminal:

    [root@satellite ~]# su foreman -s /bin/bash -c 'virsh -c qemu+ssh://user@hypervisor.example.com/system list'
    Error creating textual authentication agent: Error opening current controlling terminal for the process (`/dev/tty'): No such device or address (polkit-error-quark, 0)
    error: failed to connect to the hypervisor
    error: authentication unavailable: no polkit agent available to authenticate action 'org.libvirt.unix.manage'
