podman search: wildcard character (star) not accepted

registry.redhat.iowith * (star) for all available container images usingpodman searchdoes not work. -
podman searchdoes not accept wildcard in a search query:$ podman search registry.redhat.io/* Error: error getting registry from "registry.redhat.io/*": invalid reference format
