Unable to mount XFS filesystem

Issue

  • When reboot system xfs filesystem can't be mounted.
  • When booting system, following messages show in dmesg:
     XFS bad magic number
     XFS SB validate failure
  • When trying to mount it shows "wrong type" and said you need check dmesg for details (with option -t xfs )

Environment

  • Redhat Enterprise Linux 6.2
  • device mapper
  • GPT labels
