Issue

  • On HP Z600 workstations with an nVidia NVS300 graphics card, kickstart and/or rescue mode the screen would go black in RHEL 6.1
  • On HP Z600 workstations with an nVidia NVS300 graphics card, the power button will instantly shut system off while acpi=off enabled in RHEL 6.3.
  • Is there a way to configure these systems to allow for successful kickstart in RHEL 6.1 and allow the front button to gracefully shut the box down on RHEL 6.3?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.1 upgrading to 6.3
  • HP Z600 workstation
  • nVidia NVS300 graphics card.
