Cannot change LDAP user passwords on a RHEL6 client.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When trying to change a user's password on a client of an Directory server, we receive the error.
Constraint violation, the password already hashed. Cannot check quality.
  • If I turn off Syntax Checking on the Directory server problem goes away, but I do not want to turn off Syntax Checking on our Oracle Directory Server.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
