Adding blockedRegistries causes the machine config to be Degraded

Issue

  • Recently the ocp 4 cluster reports an unstability problem once it tried to update 4.1 or upgrade to 4.2:
  • Due our environment need to be closed in order to avoid external untrusted code we setup the following config once we finish the initial installation
In: Administración \ Cluster Settings \ Global Configuration \ Image \ YAML
  registrySources:
    blockedRegistries:
      - docker.io
  • Post then the upgrade marked the operator to Degraded state as new rendered-configs get created again and again.

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
    • 4.x
