Running the setcap -v command returns "fatal error: Invalid argument"

Issue

  • Running the setcap -v command on a file returns the following message:
setcap -v ./myfile
fatal error: Invalid argument
usage: setcap [-q] [-v] [-n <rootid>] (-r|-|<caps>) <filename> [ ... (-r|-|<capsN>) <filenameN> ]

 Note <filename> must be a regular (non-symlink) file.
