Why Just a Few Volumes are Failing to Mount and Heal in Openshift Container Storage?

Issue

  • In a large setup, the last few Gluster volumes created cannot be mounted by application pods in Openshift or get healed. When running a gluster v heal VOLNAME info command in any such volume, the error observed is:

    vol_XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX: Not able to fetch volfile from glusterd
Volume heal failed.

  • Why is this issue occurring just for a few volumes, while the rest of them are working fine?

Environment

  • Openshift Container Storage v3.11.x configured in Independent Mode
