OpenShift master nodes on Red Hat Virtualization fail complaining of high disk usage

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

Unless you create a virtual machine template for the installer, the installer creates master and worker machines on RHV whose disk size is 16 GiB. This size is too small and causes the OpenShift cluster to fail shortly after installation, with the master nodes complaining of high disk usage.

Environment

  • Red Hat Virtualization 4.3
  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.4
