IPMI unable to send remote commands

Issue

  • IPMI configured and able to send local commands, but failing when sending remote IPMI commands to other hosts.

  • Unable to connect to the IPMI device through lanplus interface. Please see the below error that we are getting from lanplus option:

    # ipmitool –I lanplus –H 192.168.2.4 –U USER –a chassis status
Password:
ERROR: Unable to establish IPMI v2 / RMCP+ session
Error sending Chassis Status command

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x
