How to get information for determining who queried to nslcd service.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The following messages of nslcd service were output when OS is booted up on our customer's system.
nslcd[xxxx]: [aaaaaa] nslcd_passwd_byname(): invalid user name
nslcd[xxxx]: [bbbbbb] nslcd_group_byname(): invalid group name
  • Our customer wants to know how to get information(e.g., process id) for determining what process or service queried a name to nslcd service.
  • If -d option in /etc/init.d/nslcd is added, nslcd is going to start on foreground, and the boot of OS stops.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2
  • kernel-2.6.32-220.23.1.el6.x86_64
  • nss-pam-ldapd-0.7.5-14.el6_2.1.x86_64
