Process Designer's Reassignment property editor does not support variable expression

Issue

It has been observed that Process Designer's Reassignment property editor does not support variable expressions like #{delegatee} in Users/Groups/Expires At columns. However, the documentation [1] already suggests that usage of process variables is supported here like #{delegatee} , but unfortunately the designer doesn't allow special characters here. It definitely looks to be a bug. Is there a workaround for this issue?
