When using iSCSI offload for Emulex OneConnect card `iscsiadm -m fw`, the boot proto shows "STATIC" instead of DHCP even though the iSCSI settings are configured for DHCP.

Issue

  • When using iSCSI offload for Emulex OneConnect card iscsiadm -m fw, the boot proto shows "STATIC" instead of DHCP even though the iSCSI settings are configured for DHCP.
  • Error observed in boot proto type under iscsiadm

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.0 and later
  • Emulex OnceConnect Converged Network Adapter configured for iSCSI hardware offload.
