EAP 6 vault: Why is the password generated as the value "1" instead of the encrypted value in EAP 6.1.1 ?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The vault password generated is equal to 1 as seen below, instead of the encrypted value as seen in the previous versions of EAP.
VAULT::pass::store::1
  • After the password is stored in a vault.keystore, the vault shows an empty vault String like:
VAULT::example_block::1

********************************************
Vault Block:keystore
Attribute Name:server
Configuration should be done as follows:
VAULT::keystore::server::1
********************************************
  • After executing vault.sh we got VAULT::example_vault::test::1 as the masked password. Is it a bug or the expected behavior ?

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 6.1.1 and up
