Failover failure with Netapp in ALUA mode
Issue
- There was a migration on a Netapp filer where in the activities were included some failover and failback tests, but when we performed those activities the servers involved were not able to support the failover.
- After updating the kernel for ALUA, failover took too long for our cluster, causing a reboot to be forced.
- Unable to access LUNs/filesystem after storage failover and giveback from NetApp ONTAP
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
- ALUA storage
- device-mapper-multipath
