Firewalld does not take into account direct rules on loopback interface

Issue

I need to insert blocking rule before for traffic over loopback (lo) interface, I tried to use "--direct " option to use direct rules, but there is default ACCEPT rule on loopback interface, which is defined by firewalld, and which is hit before any direct rules are checked.
How can I achieve blocking access over loopback?
