Cluster service stop or failover hangs doing quotaoff against fs resource in RHEL 5

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When a cluster service containing an fs resource stops, it executes the quotaoff command against it regardless of whether quotas are in use. quotaoff will attempt to stat other file systems (including NFS mounts), and if one of them is unresponsive, this can prevent the service from stopping or failing over.
  • When moving a service from one cluster member to another, the service hangs on quotaoff command.
  • Service does not failover when a network interface is down

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 Advanced Platform with Clustering
  • rgmanager prior to release 2.0.52-9.el5_6.1
