Kerberos authentication errors after update to OpenJDK 1.8.0u242

Issue

OpenJDK 1.8u242 added the feature for better Kerberos referral support(RFC 6806) and we noticed our Cloudera hadoop software stopped functioning and throwing kerberos authorization error. Unfortunately this feature also changed the canonicalization, which leads to incompatibility. Is there a plan to update u242 to rollback this feature's canonicalization behavior, or would this fall onto the software vendor to update their software to work with the new behavior?
