How to use the Alternatives system to change command used to print in RHEL

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

The server was recently updated with the new version of CUPS which changed the custom symlinks to the libraries. Need help in having the alternatives set so the update does not change the symlink in the future. The end state has to be:

/usr/bin/lp -> /etc/alternatives/print-lp
/etc/alternatives/print-lp -> /opt/lrs/Cat/lrslp
/usr/bin/lpr -> /etc/alternatives/print
/etc/alternatives/print -> /opt/lrs/Cat/catlpr.pl
