Upgrading to JBoss 6.1.1 and having issues with the vault

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After upgrading to EAP 6.1.1, I am getting errors from resources which utilize the vault.
  • Recieving PBOX000128 error attempt to store a secured attribute in vault.sh:
Exception occurred:PBOX000128: Unable to encrypt data
java.lang.SecurityException: JBAS013311: Security Exception
at org.jboss.as.security.vault.RuntimeVaultReader.retrieveFromVault(RuntimeVaultReader.java:104)
  • I have upgraded to JBoss EAP 6.1.1 and now suddenly my vault keystore seems to be a lot smaller.
  • keystore is getting corrupted after using it for bin/vault.sh script in EAP 6.1.1 or later as it is not able to list the keystore using the following command :
[pjindal@pjindal vault]$ keytool -list -keystore identity.jks -alias mykey

keytool error: java.io.IOException: Invalid keystore format

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 6.1.1 and later
