Module does not load, modprobe refuses to load a module

Issue

  • When trying to load a module, nothing happens:
# lsmod | grep xfs
# modprobe xfs
WARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/test.conf.sav, it will be ignored in a future release.
# lsmod | grep xfs

  • The module is present:
# modinfo xfs
