Cluster service with SAPDatabase resource fails status check with "status on SAPDatabase '<database>' returned 7 (unspecified)" in RHEL 5 or 6

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • I am able to start my SAP database outside the cluster
  • When I try to start the database on one of my nodes with the cluster it starts and then fails with the following error:
rgmanager[xxxx]: status on SAPDatabase "BIP" returned 7 (unspecified)
  • Could not start SAP instance with "clusvcadm" but with "rg_test" it works.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 or 6 with the High Availability Add on
  • One or more <SAPDatabase> resources in /etc/cluster/cluster.conf
