How to specify own search list in `/etc/resolv.conf` while using DHCP

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • We want to append own search list to /etc/resolv.conf while using NetworkManager to configure/update /etc/resolv.conf with data received from DHCP. We set PEERDNS=yes.

  • We can manually edit /etc/resolv.conf, but when it gets overwritten by NetworkManager, the server can not resolve domain names of our own until we fix it.
