Threads are not being distributed across CPU cores
Can a thread exist on a different core to its parent process?
Can we use taskset or numactl to put a particular thread on a particular core?

Red Hat Enterprise Linux
taskset or numactl commands
sched_setaffinity() and sched_getaffinity() system calls
