Running JBoss as a service on Windows Stops Immediately

Issue

  • The service has been installed following the instructions from the Release Notes and using the service.bat script found from the native components, but the service stops immediately once started
  • Running from the service manager fails with a prompt saying, "The JBoss EAP 5 service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service.
  • Starting the service from the command line fails saying, "The JBoss EAP 5 service could not be started
