Clustered SAPDatabase resource fails when taking backup with BRBACKUP tool in RHEL 5 or 6

Issue

  • My clustered service with a SAPDatabase resource fails when I perform a backup with the BRBACKUP utility

  • Offline Database backup called with BRBACKUP triggers the failover of Cluster Resource Group. In general, it should only shutdown the SAP Database and SAP services would be in reconnect state rather than
    failing over to node-2.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 or 6 with the High Availability Add On
  • rgmanager or pacemaker
  • SAPDatabase resource
