"Why value of "bogomips" is lower in RHEL xen kernel than normal kernel".

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Drop in "bogomips" going from Xen kernel to non-Xen kernel in cpuinfo why ?
  • When my system is running 2.6.18-194.26.1.el5xen cat /proc/cpuinfo shows bogomips at 6281.80.  When running 2.6.18-238.1.1.el5 (non Xen)  /proc/cpuinfo shows bogomips 5023.21.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5
