We want to use ntpd without uninstalling chronyd

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • In RHEL7, chronyd always takes precedence over ntpd with timedatectl command
if there are both NTP and chrony packages installed on the system.
  • ntpd would be the default time daemon considered by timedatectl command if chrony package is removed.
  • Is there a way to keep using ntpd without uninstalling chrony package?

Environment

  • RHEL 7.x
  • ntpd
  • chronyd
