How can I simulate storage related errors to ensure my RHEL system and whole environment does properly cope with the errors?
Issue
- How can I simulate different SCSI errors to ensure my system copes with them?
- I had an issue with my SAN. I have
SCSI error: return code = 0x000d0000in my logs. The code means DID_REQUEUE, yet the kernel was due to a bug not properly requeuing the command. How can I simulate the issue to observe the behaviour of my environment and Red Hat Enterprise Linux? - Does Red Hat provide and support code to insert errors into the SCSI stack?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), several versions
- SCSI protocol
- SAN
