How to install specific RHDS version using RHN
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
- Red Hat Directory Server 8.x
Issue
I just want to mentioned few steps how to install Red Hat Directory Server (not just the most recent version) from Red Hat Network (without accessing ISO image).
Resolution
This example is showing how to install Red Hat Directory Server 8.1 from RHN.

Check if your repositories contain the Red Hat Directory Server repository:
# yum repolist | grep dirserv rhel-x86_64-server-5-rhdirserv-8 Red Hat Directory Server 8 (for enabled: 52 -
Get the list of <packages>-<version> from the ISO image:
# ls *.rpm | awk --field-separator '.x86_64|.noarch' '{print $1}' adminutil-1.1.8-2.el5dsrv adminutil-devel-1.1.8-2.el5dsrv idm-console-framework-1.1.3-9.el5idm jss-4.2.5-1.el5idm redhat-admin-console-8.1.0-2.el5dsrv redhat-ds-8.1.0-1.el5dsrv redhat-ds-admin-8.1.0-9.el5dsrv redhat-ds-base-8.1.0-0.14.el5dsrv redhat-ds-base-devel-8.1.0-0.14.el5dsrv redhat-ds-console-8.1.0-5.el5dsrv redhat-idm-console-1.0.1-1.el5idm -
Install it:
