Why does UEFI PXE boot not work on IBM machine ?

Issue

  • While booting the IBM machine (any variant) into PXE boot mode keeping UEFI enabled, boot fails with the following error.
    Trying to allocate 923 pages for VMLINUZ 
            [Linux-EFI, setup=0x1020, size=0x39a5801] 
            [Initrd, addr=0x752cd000, size=0x1cab9cc]
  • This doesn't move further and stuck at the same point. Is there any bug with Anaconda?
  • The pxe default menu is as follows.
default=0
timeout=1
title RHEL
        root (nd)
        kernel /rhel65/vmlinuz
        initrd /rhel65/initrd.img

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
  • UEFI-capable hardware
