Why dhcpv6 server reply to wrong port number?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When a client device does a DHCPv6 request from a random port number, the DHCPv6 server reply back to the same random port number and not communicate back to the IPv6 standard port number. Client waits on standard port and ignore reply came on random port, this how communication breaks and client doesn't get IP.
