Is it required to run 'cryptsetup resize' command while extending LUKs encrypted LV and filesystem?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • We successfully extended the LVM volume and filesystem created over it using -r option as shown below. But this LV is encrypted with LUKs. So, is it still required to manually run cryptsetup resize command?

    $ lvextend -L 400M /dev/mapper/vg2-lv1 -r

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.7
  • LUKs encryption
  • lvm2-2.02.177-4.el7
  • device-mapper-1.02.146-4.el7
