After changing DEFAULT_MAX_GEARS in broker.conf, the changes do not take effect.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The default max gear /etc/openshift/broker.conf configuration directive to be:
DEFAULT_MAX_GEARS="2"
  • However, a current user is able to create more than two gears. The oo-admin-ctl-user output for my user displays:
# oo-admin-ctl-user -l demo
User demo:
                  consumed gears: 5
                       max gears: 100
    max tracked storage per gear: 0
  max untracked storage per gear: 0
            plan upgrade enabled: true
                      gear sizes: medium
            sub accounts allowed: true
private SSL certificates allowed: true
