RHEL8 - reposync command is not recognizing any exclude directives in the yum config files.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When performing a reposync command on a RHEL8 server the repo that is created will still have packages even if they were configured to be excluded via the yum configuration file.

  • When adding an exclude directive in either the /etc/yum.conf or the /etc/yum.repos.d/<reponame>.repo packages that are to excluded are still being downloaded by the reposync command.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
