The Bind Service Does Not Allow Same File For Multiple Zones

Issue

  • After upgrading bind, the service fails to start due to no longer allowing the same file to be used for multiple zones:
Oct 23 15:05:34 somehost bash[1326]: /etc/named.some.zones:7: writeable file 'slaves/redhat.com.db': already in use: /etc/named.some.zones:7
Oct 23 15:05:34 somehost bash[1326]: /etc/named.some.zones:14: writeable file 'slaves/redhat.com.db': already in use: /etc/named.some.zones:14

  • bind-9.11.4-9.P2.el7.x86_64
