Issue

  • Why does CUPS frequently stop printing with message "connecting to printer..." in the printer status message.

  • We are facing issue in printing on some print queues. Please find the lpstat -p output below:

    printer pr21 now printing pr1-214.  enabled since Tue Dec  9 14:46:24 2014
        Connecting to printer...

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.4
  • Common Unix Printing System (CUPS) 1.4.2
