No space error when provisioning GlusterFS block volume

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • Any attempt to create a new PVC with a storageClass (i.e. glusterfs-storage-block) backed by GlusterFS Block Storage fails with a No space error message.
  • There seems to be much more capacity available than requested with PersistentVolumeClaim (check i.e. with heketi-cli topology info)
  • Even creating a very small volume (i.e. 1 Gig) fails with failed to provision volume with StorageClass "glusterfs-storage-block": failed to create volume: heketi block
volume creation failed: [heketi] failed to create volume: Failed to allocate new block volume: No space
  • Need to change the size of newly created block_hosting volumes after deployment of OCS

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) 3.11
  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Storage (OCS) 3.11
