Why iscsi login negotiation failed messages flooding /var/log/messages in OCS 3.11 ?

Issue

  • The infra nodes (where the gluster pods are running) are frequently observing iscsi negotiation failure messages in /var/log/messages

    Oct 16 15:27:21 infra-02 kernel: Unable to locate Target IQN: iqn.2016-12.org.gluster-block:aaaabbbb-cccc-dddd-cccc-ddddeeeeffff in Storage Node
Oct 16 15:27:21 infra-02 kernel: iSCSI Login negotiation failed.

  • Even after deleting pv backed by gluster block volume, we are seeing iscsi login being initiated for some target IQN.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.6
  • Red Hat Gluster Storage 3.4.x
  • Red Hat Openshift Container Storage 3.11.x
