smbclient error NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED for user which has write permission on CIFS share

Issue

• Configured Samba to share /DIR as a writeable CIFS share
  Used smbpasswd to create Samba user someuser (which is mapped to a system user that has write permissions to /DIR)
  Using smbclient to log in as someuser and create a file fails with error NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
