Configuration file deployment fails during kickstart due to SELinux context

Issue

  • Configuration channels failing on kickstart from Red Hat Network Satellite
  • Set SELinux to permissive in the kickstart and that hasn't helped
  • Errors like the following in the kickstarted system's event history on the Satellite web interface:
        Deploy config files to system scheduled by (none)
        Details:      This action will be executed after 11/30/10 4:35:04 PM EST.

        This action's status is: Failed.
        The client picked up this action on 11/30/10 4:35:04 PM EST.
        The client completed this action on 11/30/10 4:35:05 PM EST.
        Client execution returned "Failed deployment, rolled back: failed to set selinux context on /etc/bashrc" (code 49)

  • Red Hat Network Satellite version 5.4 or later
