No file in /etc/skel is copied when useradd is run on a home directory without acl

Issue

  • Files  in /etc/skel that have acls cause the copy of files to a new user's home directory to fail when useradd is run. useradd can add a new user, but reports the following error message then.

  copydir(): preserving permissions for /home/kikuchi/.kde: Operation not supported

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.6
  • shadow-utils-4.0.17-18.el5
