No screens detected with VX900 Graphics [Chrome9 HD] chip
Issue
- Xorg Openchrome driver doesn't work with VX900 Graphics [Chrome9 HD] chip in RHEL6.
- Monitor not working with HP t510 on RHEL 6.4
- As of the latest company version of RHEL 6.4, monitor just goes black when X starts or is limited to very low resolution (1024x768).
- Earlier versions based on RHEL 6.2 would display at 1280x1024.
- This happens regardless of VGA or DVI connection and also what type (brand) of monitor we use.
- Same thing happens if I boot t510 from a LiveUSB running Fedora (tested 16 & 19)
- Creating an xorg.conf with the contents below makes X to start up but screen comes up all garbled, kind of like it didn't have sync.
[root@example X11]# cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Section "Device"
Identifier "openchrome"
Driver "openchrome"
Option "ActiveDevice" "DFP"
EndSection
