stp still enabled on NIC devices after upgrade from RHEV 3.0 to RHEV 3.1

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • SCENARIO 1, Modify network configs to makes sure STP=no is persistent since the ifcfg* were modified manually.
  • If I remove a new vlan created after RHEV 3.1 update from Hosts --> Network interfaces --> setup host networks and save configuration. STP does not get propagated.
  • If I remove a RHEV 3.0 VLAN created interface that HAD STP=yes (changed to STP=no from ifcfg* manually) and add it back, save network configuration, it modifies the following interfaces, and adds STP=yes.
ifcfg-bond0.win1234:STP=yes
ifcfg-rhevoldwin:STP=yes
ifcfg-bond0:STP=yes
  • Since RHEVM is the brains of the operations, how do we successfully disable STP from these interfaces without modifying the network configurations by hand?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) 3.1
