Resizing a persistent volume fails with 'volume status is not available' when using the kubernetes.io/cinder plugin

Issue

  • When trying to use the "allowVolumeExpansion" feature, the attempt to resize a given PersistentVolume by adjusting spec.resources.requests.storage in the PersistentVolumeClaim results in the following error message in the events:

    Error expanding volume "testing/data-volume01-testing-foo-0" of plugin kubernetes.io/cinder : volume status is not available
