Issue

  • 3000 node HPC cluster where on some Intel Sandy Bridge based systems EDAC is failing to initialize with:
"Device not found: dev 11.0 PCI ID 8086:3cb8" 
  • These are Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2690 Stepping 7 Sandy Bridge EP.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • kernel-2.6.32-358
