Why does REST-API no longer return statistics for VLAN tagged interfaces after upgrading to Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.2?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • I created a Nagios plugin for RHEV which is used to monitor various components of a RHEV environment following How to monitor events in RHEV-M using Nagios.

  • After upgrading RHEV to version 3.2, no interface statistics for VLAN tagged interfaces (e.g. eth0.100) are available via REST-API, which means monitoring traffic utilization with Nagios isn't working anymore.

  • I can gather these statistics with RHEV 3.0, RHEV 3.1 and also with oVirt 3.2 (didn't test oVirt 3.3 yet).

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.2
