liferay: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/image/codec/jpeg/ImageFormatException when using OpenJDK 1.7

Issue

  • We are getting the below exception with OpenJDK 1.7 while modifying an image.
  • we are trying to run LifeRay on EAP with OpenJDK 1.7 and get exceptions.
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/image/codec/jpeg/ImageFormatException

This does not happen with Sun/Oracle JDK's nor does it happen with OpenJDK 1.6

Environment

  • JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)

    • All versions

  • OpenJDK

    • 1.7
