System freezes occasionally on boot at video switch in Red Hat Enterprise Linux6.
Issue
-
About 15% of the time when the system boots, it freezes about at the time one would expect it to switch its video mode. It appears there is a race condition that occasionally causes booting to fail.
-
When the systems freezes, it must be turned off (with the power switch because ctrl-alt-del does not work).
- SSH login is also not possible at the time of issue.
